Minutes of General Body Meeting
Held on April 03, 2005

Item-wise (as listed in the Agenda) minutes of the General Body Meeting held on April 03, 2005 are as follows:

A)  Budget Session
1 The minutes of the last Annual General Body Meeting held on April 11, 2004 were confirmed.
2 Professor M.K. Soni, delivered the Presidential address and highlighted the agenda for the forthcoming session.
3 In view of the Institute awarding the “Best All-rounder” Gold Medal, the practice of awarding the medal by NITK alumni, was approved to be discontinued.
4 It was felt that the procedure of awarding need-based scholarships/ lump-sum grant need to be simplified and the mode of its execution was left to the Executive Committee.
5 Before initiating any move on awarding Distinguished Alumnus/ Life- time achievement award it was felt that a proper database of alumni of the Institute need to be created. Besides, it was suggested that a portal exclusively devoted to the Alumni of NIT, Kurukshetra be developed.
6 Audited report of accounts of the Association for the financial year 2004-05 was placed before the General Body and approved.
7 The house approved the continuation of M/s Rakesh Dhall and Associates as Auditors for the financial year 2005-06 at the same charges of Rs. 600/- per annum.
8 The Association decided to requested for a suitable and larger office space for the Association and the Patron very kindly acceded to look favorably into the matter.
9 The General Body decided to request the Administration for hike in one time subscription of alumni fees from Rs. 100 to 500/- per student from the academic year 2005-06 and the Patron assured to take up the matter favorably.
10 The budget for the financial year 2005-06 was placed before General Body and approved.
11 Under any other item, the President requested the house to streamline the procedure of declaration as well as actual grant of donations, offered by different batches of the Alumni. Dr. S.M. Gupta and Dr. S.N. Sachdeva of 1979 and 1980 batch respectively, were requested to coordinate on the issue.
 
(B) In the Honoursing session
1 Dr. K.K. Aggarwal Vice-Chancellor, G.G.S.I.P.U. Delhi was honored after he has sought voluntary retirement from the Institute.
2 Thirty one alumni of 1979 batch were honored on the occasion for completing silver jubilee of their entry into the Institute.
3 Twenty Nine alumni of 1980 batch were honored on the occasion for completing silver jubilee of their entry into the Institute.
