Dr. H. K. Sharma, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra has been selected for prestigious E.P. Nicolaides prize of the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata for his research work published in reputed journal of the Institution. The award will be presented at 22^nd Indian Engineering Congress to be held at Udaipur on December 14, 2007.

Dr. Sharma has also earlier published many research papers in the field of development of advanced composite materials for earthquake resistant structures in National and International Journals and conferences. He has also been invited to present his research papers in an International conference at Spain to be held from December 14, 2007. Dr. Sharma is also working as coordinator of Earthquake Risk management Training Programmes of the scheme of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi .
